April 2025
As part of the initial phase of work, crews are currently focused on waste removal and material segregation within the building to isolate recyclable materials. This activity is largely taking place inside the structure and has minimal impact on the surrounding area. At this time, only a few parking spaces along South Union are being used for contractor parking.
Additionally, outside of the 266 College Street Project, the Ownership group has also purchased and begun work on renovating the buildings to the west, including eight additional apartment units. This work is being handled by a different Contractor, but it is all an effort by one collective Ownership group working to make significant improvements to the neighborhood!
Looking Ahead
We are on schedule for a larger mobilization effort in May/June. During that time, the construction team will install erosion control measures and occupy all the parking spots along S. Union from College Street/S. Union intersection to the curb cut for the City-owned lot to the north of the project, as well as the City lot, except for a one-way traffic lane exiting the City Market Lot. A gated security fence and protective jersey barriers in select locations will also be added to isolate construction efforts.
