Greetings College Street and Union Street Neighbors,
We are writing to share an update on the former YMCA redevelopment project as we move from fall into the winter season!
Our team continues to make steady progress on both the renovation of the existing structure and the construction of the new building addition.
Inside the existing building, framing work is advancing throughout, and insulation detailing is underway in preparation for the colder months. Utility installations are progressing as well, with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins moving upward from the basement level.
Many of you have likely noticed that construction of the new portion of the building is now fully underway. The garage level and foundation concrete work has begun, supported by the crane that will remain on-site temporarily for this phase of construction.
Site work will briefly resume in the coming weeks, and we would like to make you aware of the associated traffic impacts. During the first week of December, we will be installing the permanent sewer connection from the project site to the existing infrastructure beneath College Street. This work will require a temporary closure of the affected section of College Street for the duration of the week, as detailed in the City-approved Traffic Control Plan below. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this important phase of the project.
