Greetings Community!
We are reaching out to provide an update on the progress at the 266 College Street Site as you have likely seen many changes to the property. The mass building demo has been completed with the portion of the building to be removed currently being segregated, sorted, and recycled as applicable.
We have also begun to install the support of excavation (SOE) along S. Union Street and the City owned parking lot to the north of the site. This process involves pre-auguring the existing soils to limit the vibration when the steel support columns are pressed into the earth. These are required to support the street, existing infrastructure and protect the construction operations below throughout the course of construction.
In the coming weeks, you will continue to see the old building removal occurring as well as the excavation operation along South Union street begin in earnest, to support not only the SOE installation but the mass building excavation for the foundation ground improvements.
